If you were unfortunate enough last night to be nowhere near Club Congresss let me just tell you a bit of what you missed. It was opening night for the 5th annual Tucson Film Festival: A mental wonder of epic audio and visual proportions. I admitted got there late, just in time to catch an amazing group, La Chat Lunatique . They were an amazing live set that performed what can arguable be called gypsy jazz. A energetic lead singer, the guitar and bass players were powerful, while the drums really held the smooth rhythm through out the night. Aurelia Cohen, performing in the lobby was just amazing in her black and white striped outfit, with masquerade masque on. Her spinning was dizzyfying, the mood rich, as she traversed her oval o'steel creating shapes of both strength and grace. On the outside there were complete Installations of voluntary impromptu, percussion, string, and vibrational metal that often coalesced into something a higher form than just noise, but enjoyable.
